Alumni Spotlight: Asel Kadyrbekova's Success in Paris

Academy alumna Asel Kadyrbekova has gained international recognition with her solo exhibition in Paris.

The Kyrgyz Academy of Arts is proud to celebrate the international success of our alumna Asel Kadyrbekova (Class of 2005), whose solo exhibition at a Paris gallery has received critical acclaim.

Kadyrbekova's exhibition features a series of large-scale paintings that fuse traditional Kyrgyz motifs with contemporary abstract expressionism. Her work has been praised for its bold use of color, innovative techniques, and powerful cultural commentary.

While at the Academy, Kadyrbekova studied with Professor Elmira Dzhakisheva in the Painting Department. Her graduation work, "Nomadic Memories", received the Academy's highest honors.

The Academy will host an Artist Conversation with Kadyrbekova on March 15 at 6:00 PM, where she will discuss her artistic journey from Bishkek to Paris and share insights on navigating the international art world. The event will be open to all current students and alumni.
